Four years ago he was on top of the world, now Olympic boardsailing champion Tom Ashley's career remains in limbo.
The Beijing gold medallist missed selection for the New Zealand Olympic team, with JP Tobin's form earning him the nod for London.
Ashley says his future in the sport is murky at best.
He says he honestly doesn't know if he's to continue competing and at the moment he's just going to work with some of the female sailors trying to make the Olympics.
Ashley has already ruled out appealing the decision which resulted in him missing the Olympic team.
