Rob Waddell has revealed he suffered a heart problem during the third and final Olympic single sculls trial against Mahe Drysdale on Lake Karapiro today.
Drysdale comprehensively beat Waddell in today's race and will most likely win selection for the only New Zealand single sculls berth at Beijing's Olympics.
However, Waddell revealed he suffered a heart problem 300m which caused a sudden drop in his energy levels.
"It was like rowing through mud," Waddell told nzherald.co.nz.
