Brazilian rugby sevens player Isadora Cerullo won't win a gold medal, but she will still walk away with something just as special.
Marjorie Enya, Cerullo's longtime girlfriend, proposed on the field shortly after Brazil's final match of the Olympics.
Cerullo's new fiancé was volunteering and helping out the organizing committee for the games.
Enya told the BBC: "As soon as I knew she was in the squad I thought I have to make this special. I know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it. She is the love of my life."
The Brazilian womens team didn't fare too well in the tournament, going down to Japan 33-5 in the match before the proposal to finish in ninth place.
