New Zealand has won its first medal at the London Paralympics, with Northland cyclist Fiona Southorn claiming bronze in the C5 women's Individual Pursuit.
The 44-year-old, competing in her third games, finished behind Great Britain's Sarah Storey, who took gold, and Anna Harkowska from Poland.
New Zealand is 14th on the medal table.
Meanwhile in the pool, Christchurch's Sophie Pascoe has set a new world record in the S10 women's 200m individual medley with a time of 2:28.73 in her heat.
