The Paralympics in Sydney got off to a great start for New Zealand with cyclist Mark Inglis winning a silver medal in the mixed 1km cycling time trial in the LC3 disability category.
Inglis finished in the time of in 1 minute 23.169 seconds, the second fastest time behind world record holder Radovan Kaufman of Slovakia, who set a new Paralympic record of 1:21.393.
Beat Schwarzenbach of Switzerland grabded the bronze with a time of 1:23.225.
