Taekwondo:
Vaughn Scott is the final New Zealander to take part in the taekwondo competition and opens his Olympics against seventh seed Sebastian Eduardo Crismanich of Argentina at 11.15pm. Win three fights and he's into the final, however with the second seed potentially waiting for him in the quarters that might be a big ask.
Canoe sprint:
Lisa Carrington lines up in the K1 200m heats at 9.19pm followed by the semifinals about 90 minutes later. She goes into the event as a gold medal contender after claiming the world championship title in Szeged last year.
Sailing:
Olivia Powrie and Jo Aleh contend for New Zealand's fourth gold at the Games when the women's 470 medal race begins at 12am. They are guaranteed at least a silver but will claim gold if they finish ahead of the British pair Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark. The men's 470 of Jason Saunders and Paul Snow-Hansen also have their medal race after it was postponed overnight due to lack of wind. They face long odds to medal.
