KEY POINTS:
Kayakers Troy Burbidge and Erin Taylor have both missed out on places at the Olympics.
Burbidge has finished sixth in the K1 500 at the Australian Nationals in Penrith, while Taylor has finished third in the same event for women.
But the New Zealand team has lodged protests as both paddlers were hampered by seaweed on the course.
Team manager Grant Restall says the seaweed problem was diabolical.
He says they believe there is a case to be answered so they have asked for a rerun of both races.
Grant Restall says the Australians were also disappointed at the seaweed but they have qualified two more paddlers for Beijing so are unlikely to support a rerun.
