KEY POINTS:
Ten New Zealand sailors, half of them already confirmed for the Olympic Games, are in Hyeres, France to contest the French Sailing Week regatta starting tomorrow. Carl Evans and Peter Burling are coming off a second placing at the International 470 Spring Cup last week. Beijing-bound Finn sailor Dan Slater will kick off his European season.
The other Olympic sailors in Hyeres are Andrew Murdoch and Jo Aleh, who will contest the Laser and Laser Radial classes respectively. Tornado crew Aaron McIntosh and Mark Kennedy were 12th at the world championship sailed off Takapuna in February and are still in with a chance to qualify for the Olympics but will need a strong showing over the next week.
While Olympic windsurfing qualifiers Tom Ashley and Barbara Kendall are not in Hyeres, Kate Ellingham, Steffanie Williams and Mike Kilduff will give New Zealand representation.
