New Zealand's two taekwondo athletes in first round action today both suffered losses to have their Olympic campaigns cut short.
Former brothel owner Logan Campbell was upset in his first round match, going down to unseeded Ukranian Hryhorii Husarov 10-6 - two head shots in the final round his undoing.
In the other match of the day for the Kiwi team, Robin Cheong lost to a highly vocal Hedaya Wahba of Egypt 17-6. Cheong was unseeded in the tournament, while Wahba was ranked third, so the result was somewhat expected.
