UTAH - Christchurch skater Mark Jackson appears to have failed to qualify for the second round of the 1000m short track speed skating at the Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City today.
Jackson, 21, finished third in his heat in one minute 32.276secs. Only the first two in each heat were to reach the second round.
Jackson's heat was won by Belgian Wim de Deyne in 1:30.950secs, with Japan skater Saturoa Terao second with 1:31.025secs.
The event is continuing.
