New Zealand boardsailing great Barbara Kendall is in line to become a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Kendall, who won gold at the 1992 Olympics, is one of three new members nominated for election at the general assembly in Durham, South Africa, in July.
Kendall competed at five Olympics for New Zealand, earning a silver in Atlanta and a bronze at the Sydney Olympics.
Spanish canoeing official Jose Perurena and Argentina's national Olympic committee chief Gerardo Werthein are the other two nominees.
