Olympic gold medallist Sara Carrigan has retired from professional cycling, saying she lacked the focus and commitment to compete at her best.
Carrigan, 28, won gold in the women's road race at the 2004 Athens Olympics and bronze in the time trial at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
She represented Australia at two Olympics, two Commonwealth Games and at eight world championships.
