The New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) has won the International Olympic Museum's Award for Olympic Spirit.
The NZOC documentary One Team, One Spirit won at the 23rd International Festival for Sports Movies and Television in Italy.
One Team One Spirit was one of the 196 festival finalists.
The 46-minute documentary was produced and directed by the NZOC communications manager, Gordon Irving.
It told the story of the New Zealand team at the Olympic Games in Athens last year.
Irving said it was a great honour to receive the award.
"This is my first television documentary and to be recognised by an international jury at such a prestigious festival is quite amazing," he said.
'This was always more than a sports story, but instead a story of human endeavour and how understanding, meaning and enjoyment can help bring the very best out of people."
