Olympics: Athletes need condoms

If you have wondered why the Olympic village needs to stock up on 100,000 condoms, brash Aussie athletes will tell you.

Across the Tasman, the News Ltd group asked 100 Australian Olympians if they would be prepared to have sex the night before competing in the greatest show on earth.

Over half answered yes, and in true Aussie fashion, their reasons were straightforward.

"I already have," said one.

"It makes me perform better," replied another.

An anonymous female athlete was keen to give it a go: "If I could get my husband into the village and he did all the work, I would love it."
