KEY POINTS:
The team to represent New Zealand at the Beijing Olympics is set to be announced this morning.
All eyes will be on who nabs the single sculls but three-time world champion Mahe Drysdale is now all but guaranteed the place after winning the trials 2 - 1 against Rob Waddell earlier this week.
There is now speculation about whether Waddell will win selection in another crew, and if so, who will make way for him.
Waddell struggled in the final trial after suffering a recurrence of a long-standing heart condition during the final trial.
However Rowing New Zealand medical director Chris Milne told NZPA that selecting Waddell will pose no risk.
The team is set to be announced at the high performance centre at Lake Karapiro at about 10am this morning but New Zealand Rowing spokesman Richard Gee said the announcement is undergoing some fine tuning and may be running 15 - 20 minutes late.
"What a team it is going to be," Gee said.
