KEY POINTS:
New Zealand's Olympics triathletes performed creditably in their final pre-Games hit out at the 10th round of the World Cup series in Kitzbuehel, Austria this morning.
Kris Gemmell finished second in the men's division with Bevan Docherty taking fourth.
In the women's race, Samantha Warriner finished third with Andrea Hewitt fourth. Debbie Tanner completed the top 10.
It was Warriner's 12th World Cup medal of her career and moved her world ranking up to No 3.
The men's event went to Spain's 2002 world champion, Ivan Rana, who clocked one hour, 45 minutes 23 seconds. Switzerland's Nicola Spirig won the women's race in 1hr 57min 28sec.
Gemmell took second in the men's race after an exciting sprint finish involving three athletes.
Gemmell broke away in the final turn for the finish chute to hold off Switzerland's Sven Riederer who in turn edged out Docherty for the final spot on the podium.
The sixth and final member of the New Zealand Games team, Shane Reed, opted out of the event to continue training at altitude in the United States at Boulder, Colorado.
