However the Barbury Castle International trials starting in Wiltshire tomorrow are the final chance for contenders to put their hands up for the five-strong team.
The New Zealand quintet will be named on Tuesday night and four of the five leading hopes have entered the event.
Double Olympic champion Mark Todd will ride his preferred Games mount NZB Campino; Clarke Johnstone is aboard his only Games chance, Orient Express, with whom he won the eventing World Cup title last year; Andrew Nicholson is riding both Quimbo and Avebury; and Jonathan Paget is entering Clifton Lush.
Caroline Powell, whose combination with 2010 Burghley trial winner Lenamore, is expected to be named on Tuesday night, is skipping the event. Outside chance Lucy Jackson is riding Kilcoltrim Ambassador and Animator 2. No New Zealand eventer has won the main class, which is worth about $8000.
