New Zealand has beaten Olympic silver medallists and European champions Norway in the World Men's Curling Championships in Basel, Switzerland.
The Kiwis bounced back from their opening losses to Scotland and Denmark to deliver a surprise 7-4 victory.
New Zealand scored multiple points when they had last stone advantage through the match, while restricting their highly ranked opponents to singles. A crucial three pointer to the Kiwis in the fifth of 10 ends proved to be the difference.
New Zealand skip Peter de Boer said: "They're a really good team and we played really well against them.
"This win tells us that we're capable of beating anybody when we get our game together. Hopefully there will be a few more of them this week. We know we've got enough natural talent that if we throw it all together, we'll beat anybody."
