ATHENS - New Zealand equestrian competitor Heelan Tompkins has moved up one place to seventh in the three-day event, thanks to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Tompkins benefited when the CAS ruled a 14-point time penalty on German rider Bettina Hoy for crossing the start line twice in the showjumping phase should be reinstated.
Hoy slipped from first to ninth, putting her behind Tompkins.
Tompkins, 26, finished seventh on 52.00 points on Glengarrick, who was the oldest and smallest horse in the eventing field.
She was less than two fallen showjumping rails from British gold medallist Leslie Law, who finished on 44.40 points.
The decision did not affect the New Zealand team's position.
