New Zealand equestrian Olympic hopeful Caroline Powell has won the Burgie two-star event in Scotland.
The Canterbury rider led the field on Fortunes Night after the dressage and never relinquished her lead, recording faultless rounds on the cross-country and showjumping. She has been named on the short-list for the NZ Olympic eventing team on Softly Softly II.
At the Syde horse trials in England, Dan Jocelyn, another on the short-list for the Olympics, was second in the open intermediate division on Moon Rock Bowden.
He is short-listed on Silence, who did not compete in this event. Northland's Kate Hewlett with her stallion Internet, who is also on the short-list, finished sixth after adding four showjumping faults to their dressage score.
