KEY POINTS:
New Zealand BMX racer Sarah Walker has retained her lead in the world Supercross series after the second round in Denmark yesterday.
Walker finished fourth overall in Copenhagen while compatriot Marc Willers missed the men's final after crashing in the semifinals.
World No 1 ranked Walker, from Kawerau, was second in her qualifying group and fourth in her semifinals.
The final was won by world champion Shanaze Reade of Britain, ahead of French riders Laetitia Le Corguille and Anne Caroline Chausson.
Walker still leads the series after winning the first round. There is one more round later in the year.
Willers, the men's world No 1, topped his qualifying group and finishing second behind in-form American Donny Robinson in his quarter-final.
However he crashed in the semifinal run to rule him out as Robinson went on to win the final ahead of Australia's Jared Graves and Maris Strombergs of Latvia.
New Zealand coach Ken Cools said he was disappointed with the state of the track for this key international event, which is the last Supercross competition before the Beijing Olympics.
The sandy track was so cut up that practice and qualifying time trials were cancelled.
