Injured New Zealand track cyclist Sarah Ulmer has been given the green light to resume full training ahead of the Olympic Games.
The 1998 Commonwealth Games gold medalist has been off the bike with a hamstring complaint which has now been diagnosed as a pinched nerve in her abdomen.
Ulmer flew to Sydney from the track team's training base in Adelaide yesterday for a second opinion on the injury.
Track coach Ron Cheatley says the problem is serious, but they now know Ulmer can train on, provided she can put up with the pain.
Cheatley says they will monitor the injury closely and continue to give her treatment.
