New Zealand cyclist Alison Shanks finished fourth in the women's 3000m individual pursuit at the Laoshan Velodrome in Beijing last night.
Dunedin rider Shanks, 25, was beaten by Lesya Kalitovska of Ukraine by 2.74 seconds in the ride-off for bronze, after qualifying fourth fastest yesterday.
Kalitovska led all the way and built on her 1.5sec advantage at the halfway point, winning in a time of 3min 31.413sec.
