The world's highest leaper, controversial Cuban Javier Sotomayor, has been hamstrung a week into his competitive Olympic build-up.
The high jump star was in only his third competition since his ban for cocaine was wiped, when he strained a hamstring in a minor meet in Italy.
Sotomayor, the world record holder and 1992 Olympic champion, has been ordered to rest for a week before training again, but he is adamant the injury won't affect his chances in Sydney.
