KEY POINTS:
New Zealand marathon runner Liza Hunter-Galvan will appeal against her exclusion from the New Zealand Beijing Olympics team.
Hunter-Galvan said yesterday her appeal to the Sports Disputes Tribunal was lodged late last week.
She now had 10 working days for her lawyer to send supporting documents to back her appeal.
Hunter-Galvan and fellow marathoner Michael Aish were absent when the eight-strong New Zealand athletics team to Beijing was announced on April 16. Athletics New Zealand did not nominate either for selection by the NZ Olympic Committee despite both posting A qualifying times.
