Two New Zealand athletes have attained Olympic qualifying standards in the United States.
Canterbury thrower Tasha Williams and Wellington long jumper Chantal Brunner reached the Games standards in Flagstaff, Arizona, Athletics New Zealand convener of selectors Tony Rogers said yesterday.
Williams' throw of 64.60m exceeded her New Zealand record of 63.34m, set in February in Sydney, and the Games standard of 64m.
Brunner, who earlier this week was denied a Games-qualifying mark because of a faulty wind gauge at the same venue, jumped 6.66m to pass the Olympic target of 6.65m.
