KEY POINTS:
The International Olympic Committee has delayed the decision to reallocate the five medals won by disgraced American athlete Marion Jones at the 2000 Games in Sydney.
The IOC is looking to avoid further embarrassment by rushing to hand the 100m gold medal to second-placed Greek athlete Ekaterina Thanou, who was suspended for two years for missing three doping controls in 2004 and is also suspected of being a client of Balco, the US firm that supplied some athletes with drugs during 2000.
