Olympic heptathlon champion Denise Lewis was not sure of being able to compete in the Athens Games next month as Britain named their smallest Olympic team since the 1976 Montreal Games.
Since limping out of the British trials at the weekend after hurting her foot during the long jump, UK Athletics performance director Max Jones said Lewis would now enter a period of rehabilitation to decide whether she was able to compete.
Britain, who picked 47 athletes, with the possibility of adding more next week, won six medals in Sydney and their best hope for gold in Athens is marathon world recordholder Paula Radcliffe.
