A butcher's apprentice and a dental assistant are taking aim to make Olympic archery history for New Zealand.
For the first time New Zealand has clinched three Games spots but now the archers who qualified for their country have to make the grade to get to Sydney.
Aucklanders Peter Ebden and Scott Woodham, and Kathryn Faulkner, of Christchurch, won New Zealand's places through the Oceania championships in Fiji.
The trio fly across the Tasman today to compete in the Australian nationals - their last chance to hit the qualifying mark set by their sport.
Ebden has been five points shy of the 1285 target, while Faulkner, the dental assistant, and 18-year-old butcher Woodham have come close to breaking the score. New Zealand had one archer, Andrew Lindsay, competing in the 1996 Olympics.
