New Zealand will take on Bangladesh in the final of the plate competition at the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Abu Dhabi after comfortably beating the United Arab Emirates in their semifinal overnight (NZT).
New Zealand failed to qualify for the top eight from pool play and were instead put into the second-tier plate competition. They beat Papua New Guinea in their quarter-final and then the UAE in the semifinal.
The UAE were dismissed for 140 after 49.2 overs, with Moaaz Ayub top-scoring with 21. All six New Zealand bowlers had success, with Jeremy Benton and Josh Finnie claiming two wickets each.
The Kiwis comfortably reached their target after 30.2 overs, largely thanks to an unbeaten 62 from Ken McClure.
