The New Zealand Sailing Team has started well at the 2016 Sailing World Cup Hyeres Regatta, holding three of the ten Olympic class events being contested in France including the Finn, 49er, and women's 470.
Peter Burling and Blair Tuke, Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie, and Josh Junior all currently lead their respective rivals after day one of the five day regatta.
Aleh and Powrie lead the women's 470 by five points, after a win and a second placing earlier today.
Burling and Tuke began their Hyeres title defence with a win in the 49er, and followed that up with a third and ninth placing in their next races, giving them a one point lead ahead of the Philips brothers of Australia.
"We sailed the first two races well and 99% of the third race, but we capsized right at the finish which is a bit of a pain. All in all, not a bad start", explained Tuke.
