The New York Jets won an electrifying AFC East clash with the Miami Dolphins 31-23 yesterday, leaving both teams with 2-1 records at the top of one of the NFL's toughest divisions.
A pulsating shootout was secured for the Jets by a 12-play, 73m drive culminating in a one-yard touchdown run from LaDainian Tomlinson that gave New York an eight-point lead with just one minute 55 seconds left on the clock.
The Dolphins gave themselves a chance of taking the game into overtime when receiver Brandon Marshall took a Chad Henne pass 27m to the New York 10m line with less than two minutes remaining.
