It will likely be a few weeks before he will puts a helmet on and ventures on to the field for workouts.
The nine-week program is broken into three phases, with the first two weeks limited to strength and rehabilitation only, giving Hayne an opportunity to hang out with other players, coaches and staff.
In a fortnight Hayne will get on the field in phase two, which involves individual player instruction, drills and team practice, but only on a "separates" basis.
With the team determined to prevent injuries, no contact or offence versus defence drills will be permitted.
The third phase will be 10 days of organised team practice with seven-on-seven, nine-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills, although no "live" contact is permitted.
The first mandatory minicamp is scheduled from June 9 to 11.
Hayne will have about 20 weeks to impress the 49ers.
In September the team will cut its roster to 53 players, with Hayne considered a longshot to make it.
But, if he does impress head coach Jim Tomsula, Hayne will likely make the 49ers' eight-man practice squad, which trains with the team but does not play games.
