Silver Ferns goal attack Maria Tutaia giggles when asked if she has any more tricks up her sleeve to baffle the Aussies.
The 19-year-old caught the Australians off guard in the second test when she effectively threw the ball into herself.
The rules allow players to throw the ball against the goal post then pick it up once they are in court. The goal post acts as another person as such.
The trick has almost become Tutaia's trademark after she made good use of it during the national championships last month.
But being bold enough to use it against the Aussies highlights Tutaia's belief in her own ability.
Silver Ferns coach Ruth Aitken admitted she was a bit surprised to see Tutaia do it on Saturday night but gives her full points for bravery.
"It is something that has become a bit of a trademark for her but I must admit she had real courage to be doing at that point in time," Aitken said. She said she would have been in big trouble if it had gone wrong.
Tutaia said the tactic was not something she was taught, she just knew the rules permitted it.
"It is very, very easy. The padding on the goal post doesn't have any curves ... so once you hit the post it rebounds off into the court."
It was not something she practised and could not recall it ever going wrong. When asked why she used it when she did, Tutaia said there were no other options.
"My three seconds were running out so I thought, 'What the heck, just do it'."
Asked if there were any other rules she was planning to exploit, Tutaia said: "I will have to go back to the rule book and check".
