Australia will host the netball world championships for the first time since 1991 after Sydney was chosen ahead of England's Manchester as venue for the 2015 tournament.
The International Federation of Netball Associations (IFNA) made their decision today, delighting Netball Australia chief executive Kate Palmer.
"This is a dream come true. We aimed high when we set out to win the right to host the event and our goal now is to deliver the best and most commercially successful championships ever," she said.
Australia, who defend their world crown in Singapore in July, won the title at home 10 years ago when the Silver Ferns were pipped 53-52.
Acer Arena at Sydney Olympic Park will be the base for the 16-nation competition.
