The Australian netball team's camp ahead of its three-Test series against the Silver Ferns is likely to be delayed following a pay dispute between the game's governing body and the Players' Association.
The national squad was due to assemble today, but the pay dispute remains unresolved with an agreement still to be reached between Netball Australia and the Australian Netball Players' Association.
Netball Australia officials were hoping a deal can be struck this morning so the camp will not be affected.
Players Association Director Bill Shorten doubts the ongoing trouble places the New Zealand tour in jeopardy, but the pay dispute is important for the sport in Australia so they will fight hard to get what they want.
Shorten said he is not really sure what the immediate future holds, but to be fair both the Players Association and Netball Australia are trying to solve the problems, and the Australian players are desperate to face the Silver Ferns next month.
The five-day camp is due to end on Monday when the final squad of 12 for the Silver Ferns series will be named.
The pay dispute has already caused one previous national squad camp to be cancelled.
The series with the Silver Ferns begins on October 12th.
