Australian netballer Tanya Lund has taken out New Zealand citizenship and wants to play for the world champion Silver Ferns.
Goal attack Lund, 23, has been playing for Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic in the National Bank Cup this season.
Lund, whose parents were born in Tokoroa, has been in fine form, raising speculation that national honours may not be beyond her.
That prospect has not been lost on Lund.
"I actually got my New Zealand citizenship the other day and my passport so I was very excited about that.
"The timing was right and I thought it would be a good idea."
