Anna Thompson has been recalled to replace the ineligible Cathrine Latu in the New Zealand team for a netball test series against Australia and the following world championship in Singapore.
Latu was last week included in the squad before being omitted when Netball New Zealand was told the Aucklander was ineligible due to her previously playing for Samoa.
Today, Canterbury Tactix goal attack Thompson was named in her place, with coach Ruth Aitken saying her versatility and ability to also play at wing attack is an asset for the team.
"Anna is a playmaker who reads the game well," Aitken said of the 24-year-old who has played four tests for the Silver Ferns.
"She has an excellent work ethic and understands the expectations that go with being a Silver Fern. She is an outstanding team member and we are delighted to have her back in the side."
The Silver Ferns are readying themselves for a test series against Australia next month before heading to the world championship at Singapore where their first match is against Fiji on July 4.
