The Silver Ferns team to tackle Australia for the last time before next year's world championships in Fiji will be named on Tuesday.
The Silver Ferns have had the last month off, which means the team that played in the two tests against Australia and one-off test against South Africa in July will almost certainly be retained for next month's three-test series in New Zealand.
Dynamic centre and vice-captain Temepara George has recovered from the stomach injury that kept her on the sideline for the South African test.
Shooter Jodi Te Huna is still recovering from knee surgery and is unavailable, while midcourter Victoria Edwards has gone overseas.
The Silver Ferns team named on Tuesday is just for the series against Australia. A squad for next year's world championships will be named after this month's National Provincial Championships.
The Silver Ferns were hoping to travel to England later this year but the tour has fallen through. Their buildup to the world championships, just 10 months away, now will revolve around training camps in New Zealand and a trip to Fiji in February.
Australian coach Norma Plummer is announcing her squad tomorrow but will not name her team to play New Zealand until early October after two selection camps in Canberra.
Plummer is seeking a replacement for midcourter Jessica Shynn.
