An Achilles tendon injury threatens to dog the netball year of New Zealand captain Julie Seymour.
Tactix and Silver Ferns midcourter Seymour, 37, tore the tendon during the test series against England in October and admitted her recovery had been slow.
"I think the reality is I'm just going to be managing (the injury) for the rest of the season," she told The Press.
"There have been times when I've been really down about it, but it's a matter of finding out what I can and can't do."
Seymour has been training with the Tactix on a limited basis in the leadup to the transtasman championship starting in early April.
"It has got to the stage where I'm running out of time a little bit," she said.
"Not that the first game is the be-all and end-all, but I need to be back on the court to see what I can cope with and then making decisions from there."
``...the tendon might not cope and that's the worst-case scenario; the best-case scenario is I just have to manage it."
