Irene van Dyk has an early lead in the Coca-Cola Cup sharpshooter stakes, despite her Capital Shakers' team lacking consistency in the netball competition.
South African van Dyk, who has been laid low by a bout of the flu this week, has a shooting average of 91 per cent after two rounds.
Northern Force goal shoot Teresa Tairi is next best on 84 per cent.
Van Dyk said team-mate Jodie Te Huna's willingness to share the shooting responsibilities, especially from wide of the net, had helped her average.
Te Huna's strike rate is just 69 per cent, but she has combined well with van Dyk.
"She is just lovely and we have come together nicely ... she has given good support in the circle," van Dyk said.
The Shakers play the Canterbury Flames in Christchurch on Sunday, and the match pits van Dyk against Silver Ferns defender Vilimaina Davu.
Van Dyk said Davu, a former Fijian representative, was "a tough cookie" and one of the best goal keeps in the competition.
The Shakers have failed to string together a complete performance this year, although they have notched up two wins from as many matches.
