The Adelaide Thunderbirds have secured a berth in the trans-Tasman netball semi-finals after trouncing bottom-of-the-table Canterbury Tactix 65-44.
Thunderbirds goal shooter Carla Borego, who made 34 goals from 37 shots before coming off in the final quarter, proved unstoppable for the New Zealanders despite their determined effort at Netball SA Stadium in Adelaide on Sunday.
Adelaide streaked ahead in the first half, leading 16-6 and then 35-17.
The win puts the Thunderbirds in second place pending the outcome of matches on Sunday and Monday between other finals contenders Northern Mystics and NSW Swifts and Waikato-BOP Magic and the Queensland Firebirds.
