The Tactix have created history, signing the first player from Malawi to appear in the ANZ Championship.
Goal shooter Mwai Kumwenda has been playing in the Victoria State League for the last three seasons, after being spotted at the world youth championships in the Cook Islands in 2009.
The 24-year-old has been in the Malawi lineup since 2010 and was named player of the tournament at the 2010 FastNet world series in England.
"Mwai is an exciting, dynamic player and we know she'll be a fantastic addition to the Tactix team," Netball Mainland chief executive Brigit Hearn said.
"She has a different playing style to what we're used to, and we see that as a real positive as we continue to build and develop the Tactix into an extremely competitive side."
