The Central Pulse have arrived in this year's ANZ Championship.
After dropping last week's season-opener 45-44 to the Adelaide Thunderbirds, they bounced back with a 67-56 win over the Southern Steel at the TSB Bank Arena in Wellington today.
This was a game that loomed as one the Pulse had to win as they looked to build some confidence following last Monday's heart-breaker against the defending champions.
The Pulse started fast and were up 3-0 in the early stages and although the Steel drew level a few times, they never held the balance of power on the scoreboard.
Building on leads and finding a way to close out games has been a problem for the Pulse in recent seasons but they were clinical enough this afternoon.
