ANZ Championship officials yesterday confirmed new arrangements for the round three match between the Canterbury Tactix and Northern Mystics, which was postponed after the Christchurch earthquake.
Originally scheduled to be held at CBS Arena, Christchurch, on February 27, five days after the earthquake struck, the match will now kick off the round nine action on April 7 at Vector Arena.
It will be run as a fundraising event for the Tactix and Canterbury Netball. With Vector Arena waiving the venue costs, there will be no admission fee. Instead, patrons will be invited to make a donation at the gate, with all proceeds going directly to Canterbury Netball.
In spite of several near misses, including an extra time thriller against the Magic and a three-goal loss to the Pulse last weekend, the Tactix are yet to win a match this season.
The rescheduling of the match offers a significant challenge for the Tactix, who will be forced to play four games in the space of eight days.
After this weekend's clash against the Vixens in Melbourne, the Canterbury side are expected to return to their home venue for their round eight fixtures against the Southern Steel and Adelaide Thunderbirds.
They then fly to Auckland for the fundraising match, before facing the Steel two days later in Dunedin.
