Former national Under-21 manager Jackie Barron has been appointed manager of the Silver Ferns, Netball New Zealand said today.
She replaces Sheryl Wells, who retired after a 12-year stint that ended with New Zealand's 3-0 home test series win over Australia earlier this month.
The Silver Ferns' next assignment is three tests in Australia in November.
Barron, deputy principal at Gore High School, managed the Under-21 teams at the 1996 and 2000 World Youth Cup campaigns.
She was most recently manager of the world champion New Zealand women's rugby team, the Black Ferns.
