Netball New Zealand has officially submitted its bid to host the game's best talent for the 2023 World Cup.
Stuff reported the organisation submitted an outline for a potential Auckland tournament to the International Netball Federation over the weekend.
The New Zealand submission will face tough competition for the rights to host the tournament, with Netball South Africa hoping to host the competition in Cape Town.
The bid comes on the back of New Zealand Rugby's hopes to host the 2021 Women's Rugby World Cup. both bids have the backing of both central and local government.
The next World Cup will be in England in August next year, where the Silver Ferns will look to go one better than their silver medal in 2015.
