Beaten by the competition easybeats, the Northern Mystics have officially hit rock-bottom.
The Auckland side last night sunk to the bottom of the transtasman league table with an 80-78 loss to the Tactix at CBS Arena, Christchurch, in double extra time.
After three heavy defeats in the opening three rounds, the Mystics didn't have far to fall, with only a superior - if you can call it that - goal percentage to the Tactix keeping them off the foot of the ladder.
Now they own the position outright and on the strength of last night's performance it is difficult to see them recovering. Beating the Tactix, the wooden-spooners for the past three seasons, is seen as the bare minimum for any team in the league.
The Auckland side produced another bumbling and disjointed opening to the match, being 12 goals down at one point in the second spell, before making a contest of it with a 22-12 third-quarter fightback.
