A spokeswoman from the NSW Swifts said the franchise's high performance team are still working through their recruitment for next season, and any announcements will be made in due course.
Should Langman make the move across the Tasman, she will be the first high profile Kiwi import to play in an Australia team, following in the footsteps of 1.93m defender Erena Mikaere, who turned out for the West Coast Fever this season.
It is rumoured the Adelaide Thunderbirds were also chasing a New Zealand defender - believed to be former Silver Fern Anna Harrison - for their import spot. But with two young children, it may be a tough ask to lure Harrison and her family to Adelaide.
There is still a potential road block for Langman to play in Australia, the superfit midcourter would first need approval from Netball NZ if she wishes to be eligible for national selection. The Silver Ferns selection policy states players must be members of a New Zealand team in the ANZ Championship, unless an exemption has been approved by Netball NZ.
But you can see why a stint with an Aussie franchise might be appealing to Langman. Following next month's World Cup the Ferns' star will likely be at a point in her career where she is looking for a new challenge, and playing in the super-competitive Australian conference will certainly provide that.
Langman will also recognise her best chance of signing off her career with another ANZ Championship title probably lies across the Tasman.
A shift away from the Mystics next season has long been tipped for Langman.
After six seasons with the Magic, Langman made the move to the Auckland side in 2014, but struggled to adjust to the change in attacking dynamic there, with her safe and steady approach not always meshing with the more instinctive play of Cathrine Latu and Maria Tutaia. Langman approached the Magic to see if they would consider taking her back this year, but coach Julie Fitzgerald was happy to stick with a band of youngsters that delivered for her in 2014.
With the door closed on a return to the Magic, Langman would have to shift south to one of the lesser-performing ANZ Championship sides if she were to remain in New Zealand
The Mystics are expected to announce their first bundle of signings next week.
Mystics chief executive Julie Paterson said she is comfortable with where the franchise is at with their contract negotiations, despite being the only side yet to announce any player signings.
The Pulse, Tactix and Steel are well advanced in their locking in their rosters for next season having signed the core of their teams, while the Magic announced their entire squad for 2016 last week.
