Silver Ferns captain Julie Seymour is unrepentant about her fierce criticism of Jamaican umpire Dalton Hinds during the three-test series in the Caribbean this week.
Seymour described his display in New Zealand's 53-44 second test loss as disgusting and considered taking her team off the court. Last night she said she did not regret her comment, but admitted her reaction was more emotional straight after the game.
"We were really disappointed with the standards and we did struggle to understand a lot of his interpretations."
Seymour said that after looking at the match video the players realised "we had played poorly and perhaps we should use more of our energy on improving that."
Netball NZ will not reprimand Seymour, labelling her comments "passion of the moment."
